I have two boxer (dogs) I'd like to ride in the back of the jeep
while it's all opended up. Of course I don't want them jumping
out or interfering with my driving.
Has anyone purchased any safe cargo strap type set-ups
to keep the dogs safe.
If so, where and how much? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

when my dog was a puppy in my dads jeep we usto tie a leash around the middly of the center roll bar and giveher just enough slack to stick her head out but not fall out the only think i could think of that might not work for you is the 2 dogs running around eachother n tangeling themselves

my grandmother mentioned a great seatbelt harness for dogs, she told me that she was going to get me the name of the harness so I could get one for my dog. I will give her a call and ask her what brand etc it was.

I had my dog in the back seat, leash tied to the seat belt, witht he seat belt latched. Of course, he is a pretty smart dog and knows not to try to jump from a moving vehicle. Plus he is fat, so he doesn't even like to jump from that high when I am not moving haha.

I have an aussie heeler mix so you can imagine how active she is. I'm pretty sure that they give the dogs enough moving space to stick their head out the window and such, but for the price of the harness and safty of your pet you really cant go wrong. here is what I found:

I forgot all about those, I was gonna pick one of those up when I first got my jeep. I bet that would work great to keep your hounds in the back.

I've looked at the same for my new rubi.. so far, the best sites I've seen are bigboyjeep.com , jeepcargonet.com & offroadconcepts.net

Although these are cool to keep them in, I dont think they would be very safe if you were in a wreck or rolled the jeep. For that reason, I've been looking for something to latch my dog in place. Unfortunately, my seatbelt receivers come out with the back seat :(

"All Things Jeep" had a nice harness that clipped under the dog's chest to the metal tie downs in the back of the Jeep.....it was a great set up allowing the dog a little freedom to move but safe. I checked thier site...it's not there any longer :(

with the 2 dogs, the net sounds like a better set up for you

i do the seat belt thing like naterg was talkin about. but in my dads truck we have a chain running the width of the bed with a little snap hook in the middle. i'm sure you could put a chain between 2 of the roll bars and snap the chain to their collars
