today i was going to take the seats out of a 92 yj and found that one of the bolt holes is rusted...can i just cut that area out and weld a new piece of sheet metal in there....it was the rear seat bolt and some of the front bolt the sheet metal was coming up...looks like it was split or something....these are on the outside bolt holes..two of the bolts did not have a head on them they were slick looks like i will will have to take it out from the bottom. any suggestions.

I had to put 1.5 inch strips of steel in . Under both sides of the frame. I cut out where the bolts go and welded in new ones into the strip. Then put the head through the hole ln the floor.

After you weld a new piece in I would add large washers. Helps disperse the weight when the seat pulls one way or the other
