I HATE my carb... or, at least I think I do. No matter where I set my idle screw, it won't stay idling. I've been stalling every time I hit the clutch for the past four days. It had been getting progressively worse idling before then, but now it's all over.

I see guys have written about a 2100 carb that is really easy to work on, rebuild, etc. Where do I find this carb? When I do a search on Ebay, I only found one from a ridiculously old Ford.

In changing carbs to the above 2100, are there hoses, vacuums that need to be plugged, etc? I can see a carb change going into a massive issue before I even purchase the carb :)

ya...you do.

you ask the best way to go, if you like this jeep and want to keep it. fuel injection, theres a few options but none are super cheap. cheaper and easier is throttle body injection conversion, then there's 4.0 head swap, or 4.0 all together.

Thanks for the link... it's great to see the Weber in pictures, like they supply. I am looking seriously at the Motorcraft 2100, but the Weber is looking good, too. I need to do something - I must've had to restart it from a rolling start at least 12 times today alone. This is my daily driver and I need it to work. It can't be a "project" car.

if its your daily driver and you need it to work tell me this: how many times have you had to restart your 92? i know its not easy, or cheap but tbi and you'll never look back. i just hate carbs.

Yeah, I think I'm going with the 2100. And, I'm sure I may catch flack for it, but I am going to just pick it up from the guy on Ebay who sells the 2100 and everything else you need to just put it on and go. I've learned, especially with daily drivers, that sometimes it's worth paying someone else to do the "heavy-lifting" - i.e. trouble-shoot, fabricate, etc. I need to just be able to take four hours on a Saturday morning and have the car back running again. I've read and printed so many posts on here re: trouble-shooting the carb, even the 2100, or making the linkage work correctly, etc, etc, etc. The "romance" of handling that stuff myself, at least when it comes to carbs, has WORN OFF.

he is ok but way over priced for what it is u can do it ur self for cheaper but if time is an issue then go for it cause he pre tunes them for the 258 so its as easy as hooking it up and drive away

That reminds me, yjwes - if I change to the MC 2100, would it still be a good idea to do the Nutter Bypass?

First off....a Jeep is not a car...it is a Jeep. That aside, I have heard that the motorcraft 2100 is a good swap. I too strongly recomend the fuel injection. I have the Howell system and it is hands down the best thing I have done for my Jeep.
