Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum and fairly new to the Wrangler club in general, so please go easy on me for any dumb questions. I bought my first Wrangler a little over a year ago now (2012 Unlimited Altitude Edition, 3.6 Auto) and just did my first mini-mod a couple months ago (K&N intake). I've officially been bitten by the bug... just placed an order for a set of 295/65R18 Duratracs on 18" XD Monsters and a Teraflex leveling kit (I know, I'll regret not doing the full lift kit right away, but that's just not in the budget for now!). I'll try to post some pics this weekend (hopefully) after I swap everything out!

Anyway, I've been reading a few threads about tuners/superchips and was curious if I will definitely need to to this after I put on the new wheels/tires and leveling kit? Can anyone with a similar setup offer their experience to help a newbie? Thanks!

2.5 leveling kit 295 65 18 = 33" tire is not bad. I would do a 2.5 rubicon standard coil lift kit with 33 all terain Nito tires. With this set up you need no tuner or programable chips.

All you will need is the AEV procal. Measure your tires right and DON'T go by manufacturer specs, your tpms sensors (if applicable) and your gear ratio (if automatic to modify shift points) should be calibrated as well.

That will reassure u that ur speedometer is correct to avoid unwanted attention, and will eliminate the annoying tire sensor in the dash.

Tuners?? Unless your forced induction, modded your injectors and have tons of bolt ons, I would buy the tuner and have a dyno shop tune it to specs to optimize performance. With that said... Bolt ons are a waste of money for your 3.6 jeep.

Are you running wheel spacers on those rims? If so, 1.5"?
Yes, I used the front 1.5 spacers before the 2.5 lift kit with the same tires 2957017=33" but removed after lift with no problem. I could go 35" for the look but 35" is too hard on the V6 engine.
33" with 2.5 lift is a best set up with a reasonable price. I m loving it.
