So, I've noticed when I'm idling, and I press the pedal down, there is a squealing noise. Not quite sure what it is, but it doesn't get as loud when I drive. Any ideas what it could be, if I can fix this, or how much it might cost?

Prolly the throwout bearing. To replace you might as well do a clutch kit which would run about 100-150 bucks if you do it yourself. Look for 500-700 at a shop

How big of a pain would it be to replace it?

It's probably a 4 hour job for most shadetree mechanics since you have to remove the transmission to get to it. Replacing the throwout bearing and clutch once you get the transmission off is trivial. Do replace the clutch and pilot bearing while you're in there.
