Guessing manual? Since you said put it in first and not in drive?
Manual or Auto Trans?

2.5L or 4.0L motor?
So you have the AX15 Tranny...So you are pushing the clutch in and trying to shift into 1st and it grinds? Or does it go into gear with the clutch in, but grinds when you let the clutch out?

Any forward gears work in 2wd?
Goes into gear I let out on the clutch n it just grinds extremely loud n fast in 2 wheel drive going forward in 2wd

Does 2nd work in 2wd? Without knowing any more info, I would say that your transfer case (NP231) might be the culprit
Mine did something similar once. It wouldn't go into first or reverse at all, with the clutch pressed it would just grind bad. It finally went into first and has not done it since. I still never figured out why it did that.
Well the jeep has been towed to the local Firestone thank god for aaa only cost me 20 bucks. Ill find out tomorrow n update the post
Well my rear end is shot. Dana 35 garbage. Literally just got this rear end a year n 3 months ago with very minimal off roading. $1700 down the drain

Probably too much weight and torque put on from the board.

There wasn't a loud pop or anything? Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Time for a 8.8.
Terrible luck just dropped 8 hundred this past weekend. How much does the 8.8 swap cost I found a few online for like 150 in my area but as far the rest of the parts go for the swap. Any ideas?
