I ordered a set of tires, because quite honestly, I put so few miles on tires that it would take me forever to wear the current ones out before I could get what I really want.

I can’t really justify storing an extra set of rubber, and won’t go up in size on my JK (which has brand new tires anyways) because I don’t want to regear it.

So, with that said, these tires had some cupping..... they came on the jeep, and were pretty much new but ai have no idea how many miles are on the.

My plan is to try to sell them locally so they aren’t taking up space, for about 25% less than they are worth so I can move them quickly....... problem is, I don’t know what they’re worth. Never sold or bought used tires, and again 2 have a bit of cupping, and the spare was very recently rotated in, so 400 miles or so on it.

They are 35x12.5x17 Falken MTs and I don’t have anything fancy to measure tread depth, but here they are:

Fair price for 5?

EDIT: No patches/repairs ever

As with most things if you aren’t in a hurry to move them that benefits you as the seller. There was a lady selling a set of 5 lightly used 35x12.5 Nitto RG’s locally on FB Marketplace originally listed at $1350 for the set and dropped to $900 over the course of three weeks until the ad disappeared, presumably due to a sale. I’d say you could probably move those pretty quickly for $150 each or if you’re willing to wait it out maybe $225 to $250 each for a motivated buyer. Of course this is all completely anecdotal and your market could be completely different 🤪🍻

That’s encouraging! I’d like to get $400-$500 for the set, but have no Facebook. I’ll ask someone to put them up for me once I get them off of the jeep!

Thanks

Put them here and put them on Craigslist for $500 and go from there. If you want to be super informative to prospective buyers, buy yourself a 75 cent tread depth gauge and state the tread depth in your ad. Also helpful is to put the tire date code in the ad. It's a 4 digit number. First 2 digits are the week number, last 2 the year. So a 2208 is 22nd week of 2008.

I've bought and sold tires on craigslist. I tend to buy wheel/tire combos and assume the tires are junk (or have an 08 date code, thus are junk). When I sell, it's selling off the spare tires. I recently bought a set of 5 wheels with tires, then another 2 loose wheels. Mounted the new tires and had 3 loose tires. In this case, 255-75-17 all season stockers. Put them on craigslist with the tread depth and date codes for $15 for all 3 and they were gone in a day to someone who just blew a mini van tire and only needed one. Obviously lower value than 35's.
