Hey everyone,
So about two weeks ago my 2007 JK randomly caught fire and burned down. The fire started while I was traveling around 5mph and erupted from under the engine compartment where the battery resides. NHTSA reports that about 50 JK's have had the same thing happen. I'm curious to know if anyone else has had this happen to them or knows anyone who had this happen? I contacted Chrysler and they basically told me that I was SOL.
Here's some videos...

Yup mostly stock, the only things I had were wheels and tires. However when I did have a transmission flush in September a few weeks later there was transmission fluid covering my driveway. When I called the stealership back they told me I could pay to have it towed in and they would look at it. I told them to shove it and had it towed to my work at Blacks tire and they told me they put way too much fluid in and the transmission was just venting it out. Really disappointed in the poor customer service offered by them and Chrysler in general.

Hopefully, your home was not damaged as well. But, yeah, a nine year old vehicle is not going to get much love from the manufacturer. I guarantee they keep track of such things for their purposes not yours. Your best bet is your auto insurance policy to get some value back otherwise you are SOL. I will wager that someone will respond by saying "sue their _ss" but a vehicle worth maybe $10-12k is not much to fight over. The comp portion of your car insurance is your best bet.
