I have a 2000 TJ with 32000 miles and I am sick and tired of the 4 banger. Looking to swap in V8 probably ford 302. Has anyone done this? Is there a supercharger made for the 4? I am looking for advice.
Thanks
Thanks

Are you doing all the labor yourself? Unless you have a cheap donor vehicle with most of what you need, and are doing the work yourself, you are going to spend a ton of cash. Better to sell the 4 banger and look for a v8 that someone else has already sunk all that money into that they will never get out of it.
My humble opinion.
there is no supercharger that i know of made for the 4 banger...my friend got a whole V8 and its complete drivetrain from a junkyard for about 2Kvictorymyst said:I have a 2000 TJ with 32000 miles and I am sick and tired of the 4 banger. yeah my buddies YJ has a corvette engine and it has so much power! man i wish i had it...its ready to jump over anything when you touch the pedalMR.CLIFFORD said:Of course.... There is something about 350+ ft.lbs of torque at your foots desire![]()
Problem is... with that much power, most guys will have to show it off and end up with broken diffs and axles, among other sordid and costly items.bigjeep said:yeah my buddies YJ has a corvette engine and it has so much power! man i wish i had it...its ready to jump over anything when you touch the pedal

So let's start making a list. What all would you need to convert a tj from a 4banger to a v8? And throw out some prices for parts, not even thinking about labor. Let's see what we come up with.MR.CLIFFORD said:in my opinion that is why you don't do one without the other. I wanted a LT1, 42" tires, and lots of gear reduction. That equals big axles.![]()
