92 2.5, 5 speed, no lift.

Bought new rear springs and had my mechanic put them on. Much easier with his lift.

Now, when I get to about 27 mph I get a vibration that "seems" to go away about 40. (maybe not, at that speed, there is so much noise, it could be masking it)

Any clues as to what it may be?

Since you said no lift I will assume these springs were just replacement springs rather than lift springs? It really could be a lot of things unfortunately. Since the vib is at a certain speed rather than RPM it is coming from the output shaft of the trans back. Most likely not the T-case, so from the T-case back. So, drive shaft, rear u joints, rear axle, wheels and tires.

Thanks, you confirmed my thinking about what it could be.

Now to figure out which of those is causing the problem.

Sorry to high jack this post- I am having the same problem right now and I can't get the u joint out of the shaft. I don't have a press. I tried the sockets on a bench vice trick but no luck. Anyone have suggestions on getting it out without a press?
