I ordered a lift package from them this week.

They told me I might get the parts Friday (today) or if something had to be drop shipped it might be early next week.

Well everything arrived Thursday (yesterday)

I'm tellin' ya...it's getting so you can't trust anybody anymore.

They're just liable to get some repeat business from me if they keep this up

I tell you what all this stuff that I hear about DPG Just really makes me wanna go order something from them!! All you hear is they are so nice about this and so helpful with that. Never nothing bad!! No really it seems like a great place to do business and when I get around to ordering some parts they will be first on my list to check out!!
This is the first time I have ordered from them. But they were very helpful on the phone, and my order came right away. He did tell me if something was out of stock how much longer it could take, but apparently everything was in, and bang! Great experience.
Who is DPG? And more importantly, where are the pictures!!!???:D Glad you had a great experience with them.

you scared me pretty bad when i saw the title of the thread. i thought you actually had a bad review...which was gonna be super hard to believe considering i haven't heard a single bad thing about them...good to hear this!
ok. you can delete it then.

that's what i was thinking.
the only thing that has kept me from ordering anything from DPG is the fact that there is no online cart..

you have to call and place the order.. (hint hint)

seeing that I'm the purchasing agent for a small business,

I have less trouble with orders that are e-mailable or in an online cart VRS placed over the phone to vendors.
i think i would rather speak to someone on the phone rather then just emails. atleast when you speak to someone you can ask questions and you can also make sure you're getting the right parts. i have not ordered from dpg, but have had contact with dirk and he has been very helpful. hope to be ordering a lift from him very soon.

Dirk will be the first person to tell you that no 2 orders are the same. That's why he doesn't have an online cart. You get to customize your order for your specific vehicles. He takes the time to visit with every last customer on the phone. He has a starting point with his specific suspension systems then fine tunes them to your jeep setup.

You don't get that with an online cart. :)

Dirk has his new TJ/LJ suspension systems up on the website. Everyone should check them out :D:D
Don't you just hate it when someone wants to satisfy their customers?!!!
nothing is "lost in translation" when its ordered in black and white text...

;)
ordering a suspension system isn't "black and white" for most people. I bet it is nice to just ship someone a lift without the hours of tech conversation on the phone. Only to have them call back because they forgot this, or this isn't the way they expected.

DPG turns out the most road worthy jeeps out there. His system of building a rig has worked for both me and my wife. Along with thousands of other people across the world and all have the same to say.

I think maybe it would be a good idea if you picked up the phone and had a conversation with him before making your final decision :)
Clifford's right. Dirk had questions for me that when answered moved us to the appropriate options. The man knows his stuff, and asks the right questions.

I have to admit, my knee-jerk reaction was also that I'd rather just place the order. After the call was made, I was quite happy we had conversed.

I apologize if my facetious approach put anybody off. It really was a great experience.

It's true- I do not have an online cart -ON PURPOSE.

True enough, you can order a plethora of suspension kits online.
Problem is, they don't offer the many different options that are available that make a suspension system work the best on a particular application.

Most of the people I talk to end up ordering a slightly different (or maybe really different) configuration than they planned to go with at first.

For example, most OME dealers offer a couple of different coil spring options for wranglers. You get light or med/HD coils and that's it.
We use about 10 different coils- some of which are not even wrangler coils- to best suit the individual jeep.
Since every jeep is different in weight distribution and added accessories, armor, etc, the coils SHOULD be matched to the application.

You can't just click that.

There are other "kits" out there that aren't even complete. There are any number of vendors who are more than willing to sell these kits.

I get calls daily from guys who bought these and now they need us to help them fix problems, such as shimmies, death wobble, driveline vibes, poor handling, bad ride quality and so on.
I much prefer to have a detailed discussion with our customers up front, to let them know all the ins & outs of whatever kit they are considering. Then, they can proceed with all the info they need. It does take a lot of my time to do this.

It's worth it when our customers get what they need the first time and don't have to call us with a bunch of problems...:)

I never mentioned anywhere in my post about a suspension set-up..

my point is there is no online cart to add ANY items to.. and bookmark for later use, or purchase "generic sales"

Im not willing to call you and waste both of our time to get a price on..

(for example) a set of wiper blades,

or alloy axle tube seals,

or a set of 4.5 XJ coils, or syn winch line.

I use online carts as bookmarks for future upgrades, and your lack of an online cart only hurts in that aspect.

it's your choice to have or not have that feature on your webpage,
but thats how perfer to purchase anything online, and without a cart your losing out on my buisness.
at least In my opinion.
