Hey y'all. I have a 1998 jeep wrangler Tj and I've been trying to figure out if the speakers in it were waterproof or not?

If the cones are paper, they're not waterproof. Most aftermarket automotive speaker cones are made from polypropylene or Mylar which is waterproof.

Fresh water doesn't normally permanently harm low voltage electronics like it does a paper speaker cone. I wouldn't worry as much about the radio as I would the speaker cones if your Jeep gets into wet conditions.

my radios in my last TJ would act all screwy, after getting wet multiple times, buttons would stop working, weird behavior, stuff like that. I would not wait for it to dry though, it would get wet and I would keep on the tunes. that may be why i toasted so many.
