after my last time offroad, my power steering has felt kind of weak. it was a bit low on fluid, so i topped it off and it didnt help. nothing is leaking, so i dont know how it was low.

could this simply be some junk in the pressure relief valve on the pump? has anyone taken theirs apart to clean it out?

anyone fixed an issue like this without replacing the pump? mine isnt making any weird noises, it just feels weaker than usual.

just went and looked a bit closer at all the power steering components, and the one line that runs across the front crossmember to from the box to the reservoir is weeping slightly in two spots. since i noticed the steering be weaker after coming out of a mudhole that i was stuck in, could i have some particulates in the pressure relief valve entering the system from those spots that are weeping? or is it likely air is entering the system there causing it to feel weak, or a pressure loss there?

Nobody has tried to dissect their power steering pump?
