Went to a buddies cottage this weekend and went offroading in the jeeps...man was it fun...I legitamtely got lost in a forest for about 2 hours...was convinced we were going to spend the night there because it was getting dark out and I don't have my lightbar installed yet (SOB sent the wrong sized one in the mail!!...then told me to buy new brackets )

I took this thing through stuff that I didn't even think was possible hahaha.

I'll have to add some pictures from the weekend in a bit, but here is a few short videos of some of the trails...

Jeep Wrangler stuck in a swamp

I made it so far in this swamp before I got snagged between a bunch of logs underneath the surface.

I think the biggest challenge for us here, was not being able to gauge the clearance we had with some of these rocks and the bottoms of the jeep...like I said, this is the first "out in the sticks" ride that we did...previous to this we've just hit a few local mud holes...

The videos don't do the terrain much justice, the ground was pretty damn soft, plus conveniently a lot of the hardships weren't on camera ahahah

The black jeep is mine, the red jeep is my cousins...

I sunk the jeep so deep at one point I had the front left tire completely off the ground.

I'll have to upload a bunch of pictures later to....

To end the day off, when we finally found our way out of the forest we had to go rescue my buddy in his silverado who got stuck on a steep hill on a giany bolder that snagged his frame.... I hooked my winch up to him but he was too damn heavy...so we hooked my cousins jeep to the back of mine and rewinched him to drag the silverado out of the rut...in the process we also dragged out of the ground this boulder that was probably a few hundred pounds as well hahah. I

t took some effort and both jeeps slid a bit trying to get him unstuck, but she worked!

All in all, this was the first intense trail riding I've done in the jeep. I have to say, making our own trail in the forest when we got lost was probably the funnest / scariest thing ever. We must of had to winch 15-20 full grown trees out of the way that had fallen and were blocking the only realistic way of getting by...some of the time I couldn't even pull them, I had to drive my jeep head first into another tree and use it as a stop so that I could drag the thing out of the way :beerdrinking:

I busted the Go pro footage out finally- here is an even better cut of the swamp from a few different angles.

4x4 Jeep crossing a swamp and getting stuck - YouTube

I got another video I have to pull together of when I get stuck in a marsh. The video would have actually been perfect if I had footage from the side to since the Go pro got the moment I slammed into the muck and it's an awesome shot...I'll post that sometime this weekend.
