Just curious if anyone knows what the weight of the stock bumpers are on a JK? With all the talk about adding weight when adding aftermarket bumpers i'm curious to compare the differences in weight between stock and the stated weight of aftermarket ones...

Very light, I would say probably 10 lbs. I'm sure someone will chime in with the exact weight though

The front and rear bumpers weigh about 20 lbs each.

If you want to know what your jeep will look like with an aftermarket bumper/winch/tire carrier...etc just sit on the bumper...it's not the most scientific test but its pretty accurate.

front bumper weight 40.5lbs that is from me just getting on the scale with out then getting on holding it so not the most accurate but it is close. Sorry I do not have the rear setting in the house to weigh.

Just went to the shed and weighed the parts I took off my 2013 JKUR.

Front without fogs and bolts but with tow hooks was 35 pounds

Rear with brackets but without bolts 15 pounds! The thing weighs nothing. The bag of left over bolts and the masive tow hook were another 6 pounds. I don't think there is any metal in that rear bumper. The front has a metal bar in it. It must be clasified as a truck which has no safety requiremet for the rear.

New bumpers are just under 100 pounds front and over 100 pounds rear.

Interesting about the classified as truck comment, I saw a pic of a MW3 unlimited at a salvage yard and it was hit low in the right rear AEV bumper and it bent the frame hard at the wheel well. Obviously, it was totaled. I wonder how it would have fared with the regular oem bumper? The aev bumper looked fine just the frame gave.

The front is heavier then you'd expect. Due to the tow hooks and the actual metal bumper behind. Rear on the other hand you can balance on one finger, just hollow plastic.

My Poison Spyder front had a shipping weight of 74 pounds if I recall. Ace Pro Rear is 190.

40# +-, on the 2011, that includes everything except the 8 mounting nuts & lic plate.
