I've read a ton of threads, including those about unsprung weight. I'm running a stock 14 Jkus and 3.21 Looking to do 33s. What is better on tranny, suspension and power....lower weight and wider (33x12.5x15) or heavier by 10 lbs a corner and narrower (285/75/16)? 70 lbs per corner vs 80 ish? Tire is general grabber at2. Thanks for any insight.

Height and weight make more diff than width. If tires are same height lighter will feel better

Within reason anyway. 285/75-16's are nice size foe 3.21's I had those on my last jeep they look good

looked level to me had a 3/4" spacer up front on the first two photos and then on the last I had a 1.5" tera flex performance coil kit. It was much nicer with the tf coil lift.

When I went from a 32" tire to a (wider) 33" tire, I honestly couldn't tell the difference in performance or MPGs (and I've got the older 3.8 with the auto and 3.73s). When I moved up to a taller 35" tire (same width as my 33s), then I could really tell the difference. The weight was about the same (Heavy 33" Nittos, and light 35" KO2s). I feel like height makes the most difference.

It makes sense.
