2010 JK with about 89K on the clock and I'm about to install my fourth one in 2 years (12,000 miles). The first 2 I put in were Amazon cheapies and lasted about 3 months each. The one that just failed now is a Dorman and it lasted about a year. What is causing these to fail? On the other hand, I'm getting good at changing them. Made a special wrench and can do it in about 45 minutes or so. I'm about out of the plastic fender rivets, though.

At least I know when it goes on my 10 I'll use Mopar.
I thought about that but my Dorman has a lifetime warranty so I'll probably exchange that one for now. I'm thinking next time someone else may change it because I'll trade it!

I recently sold my TJ and got a 2011 JKU with the 3.8. I am super paranoid about the 3.8.
How did you know the EGR was bad, does it throw a CEL?

The 3.8 isn't too bad, but yes it does throw a code. P0406.
