they dont sell anything but 4.0 litre, im wondering if anybodys tried a 4.0 exhaust on the 2.4, i know that 2.5 and the 4.0 were almost all interchangeable but since they went with the 2.4 i havent seen nothing, and by the way quadratec is overpriced aslong as you do some research you can find things cheaper than them.

you mean a 2.5L ? And I think most aftermarket cat-back systems work for both, from what I've been seeing, but I could be wrong.

I know quadratec is pricey... but its a list to get ideas from, never said I've ordered anything from them :D

I know mine is a 98, but I just put on a Dynomax SuperTurbo Cat Back and I'm very pleased. The box and paperwork said it was for a 4.0 but it fit right up on my 2.5 and sounds and performs great. Oh yea, I got it at www.strippermotorsports.com for about $30 cheaper than Quadratec.

i don't think your gonna gain enough performance for it to be worth the money if thats worth your after...same for the sound too...not sure if it would be worth the money since ya got the 4banger...if its gonna sound like a hornet then i'd rather have a stock exhaust.

hey hey now - no need for names.... and yes - the 4.0L TB doesn't fit on a 2.4L... just the 2.5L. : 2.4L came out of the Libery in the 2003 and up Wrangler SE's.

take it easy. no one even made a stab at you. you said in your original post something about performance so i mentioned that the performance you will gain will not be much if at all...and you said to get something a little better sounding and i stated that i would rather have a stock exhaust than a exhaust that will sound ricey...that said, you may be able to find a nice exhaust that isn't ricey...im sure there are a few that sound good...i hear good things about the dynomax on 4banger

stop right there..!!!!!
bigjeep, we here at WF respect what you have to say and there is no need for you to justify your reasoning.
and yes he did mention sound and PERFORMANCE. you were 100% correct.

04jeeper, short term memory loss????
i feel for ya, i too "had" a 4 banger many moons ago. but that is no reason to take it out on us.....you gotta relax!!
do what most of us do and learn from your mistakes.....

First off let me apologize for the wrong throttle body recomendation. Now read what you wrote and think again... in your first post it said nuthing about your stock setup being rusted does it? I wouldnt imagine it would be rusted through in 3 years because mine is a 00 and the exhaust was still running perfect before i removed it for my flowmaster and i live in the SALT BELT. It only says you want something "better sounding and performance." As recomendations for a new exhaust your question has been preatty much answered so enjoy your stay.

i apologize for my comment if it sounded rude, but this is why i hate emailing it is so impersonal they can go either way, i should have clarified that my exhaust was rusted through and yes i was looking for something better again i apologize. i have no regrets buying the 4 banger maybe i doesnt get u up the hill faster than the next guy, but th2.4 performs alot better than the 2.5. and fyi if anybody needs to install a arb snorkle it will fit on the 2.4 you just have to get a little crafty with it.

no hard feelings man, i agree with you the 2.4 makes more power than the 2.5 (~30hp i think) and i'm guessing its bit more economic also :) so did you notice/see any difference when installing the snorkel? I've heard only goods about it. From your thread i'm understanding you installed one.

Daaaaang, I feel like I'm at the bottom of the foodchain with my 2.5L. I gotta tell ya though, when I put on that Dynomax Exhaust, I also added a CAI along with a TBS and I have seen significant improvement in throttle response. In 1st and 2nd gears I have "some" improvement regarding throttle response, however, in 3rd, 4th and 5th gears, it's night and day difference to compare before and after the install. It's nice to be cruising in fifth gear at 60mph and hit the gas and feel instant acceleration instead of having to drop it into 4th. Plus I gained about 3mpg.... And btw, I dont think it sounds like a ricer or a hornet.... :flipoff: :D

Oh yea, so whats the verdict for putting a 4.0 throttle body on a 2.5?????

yeah i could tell a difference off the line, it seems like its a little punchier i should have the dynomax cat back exhaust and i will see where that takes me also, i will keep you guys posted. im going to go higher i just cant decide between the rubicon express 4.5 super flex or the full traction ultimate 4 inch lift, if anyone has a opinon i would greatly appreciate it.
