Ok guys I got my first wrangler(YJ) when I was 16 and began to notice other wrangler drivers and I would exchange a hand wave or at the very least a head nod. I have not received the same friendliness or courtesy living in Idaho and now driving a JK. I mean i give just about everybody the wave and only about 1 of 10 do it back. Was this just a Washington thing or are Wrangler drivers/owners losing that sense of community and pride?

Honestly, just depends on the person. I wave at every jeep no matter what make a jeep
Is a jeep. But most jk owners who have never owned a jeep don't care to return the wave and most people with tj's and yj's won't even wave at jku's.

I actually beg to differ and find it to be reversed. I drive a JKU and get more waves Then I care to share ( Live in Jeep town over here) from Cj 's, Yj's, TJ's then I do Jku's...

Just in my opinion, sometimes it's just too much of a pain to constantly wave.. If I had a penny for every time I got waved at, I would be rich. Sometimes we are just in bad moods...look away and can't be bothered or I'm in a rush. But if I'm cruising along I always wave.

The older jeeps are actually nicer to me then the ones I currently drive

I noticed the same thing driving around this weekend. Only got a 50% wave response while driving around Boise. Some people appeared to be to distracted to see I suppose. It took me a while to discipline myself to look around for other jeepers.

Note: I get a 100% response while riding the trails.

I've noticed around most of canyon county that topically hard toppers won't wave back or even nod. Every once in awhile a soft topper won't wave either.

Not from the area as you see I just like checking out what is going on in other sates but I find this all true here in Michigan too i was thinking about doing an experiment to see how many jeeps it would take or what models would stop but be driving down the road and pull over real quick and pop the hood and see if any of the jeepers would pull over and try to help I think that would be interesting to see the results also I got this at an event a couple weekends ago called the jeep creep figured I'd share it
