I'm in a bind here and thought i'd ask for ya'll opinion. I was having problems shifting and had an idea what could be wrong. So the tech I help at work and I took the tranny out. We dumped out the fluid and it was a creamy color like water got in there. I've never had it off road and the longest trip i've made with it has been to work and lunch with it. Havent made it off road yet. So I take everything apart and notice all the speed gears, but like one has rust on it, one of the gears has a grove wore in it, slave cylinder is shot, and the clutch disc is almost wore down to the rivets. It's bolted to a freshly rebuilt 2.5L engine with 113,000 or so miles. The Jeep needs some TLC, but the frame is a little rusty. Not sure if it just surface rust or if its all the way through. Here are my options i've thought about:

1. Sell it...keep the money, buy stuff for the truck, or possibly buy a TJ or Cherokee if I find one cheap enough.

2. Keep it...tear everything down, have the frame sand blasted and painted, soa, 4.0L with whatever trans I can find to bolt up to it.

3. Keep it...just buy a junkyard trans overhaul it and keep driving.

I need the money for other hobbies and bills, but have a hard time thinking about selling it.
