Trying to get my shopping list done for the yj I just bought. I have a 94 yj with a 2 inch body lift right now. I am getting a 4 inch lift.
The tires I have ready to put on are gy duratracs 295-65-18
The wheels I want are 18x8 5x4.5 35mm offset 5.88" backspacing.
I don't want wheels that stick out too much. Is this a good setup?
Thanks

That seems like way too much backspacing. I'd say go with 3.25 to 4 inches of backspacing to get the good mix of stance and not sticking out too far. It's too bad you have the 18 inch tires as an 18 inch wheel is gonna take up a lot of the height you could have used for tire sidewall. I personally wouldn't run a wheel bigger than a 16 on a YJ, and I'm sticking with 15s myself.

I think 4wheelonline.com steered me wrong. I went to the yj section and thats one of the wheels they had in there. After looking online I believe the stock wheels have a backspacing of 5.5
With the 2 inch body lift I have plus the 4 inch I am going to do it looks like I need something with less backspacing than the stockers. Anyone know the max backspacing I can run without hitting .
The duratracs are on my crew cab chevy right now and I was gonna throw them on new jeep wheels when I put the stockers back on my crew for winter. Then in spring I would just get new ones for crew cab. The jeep is just going to be a fun cruiser not really a serious offroader, some might even call it a mall crawler, so a big sidewall isn't a huge concern. I know most frown upon bigger wheels on jeep but I am just not a fan of the 15-16 inch wheel selection out there.
