I have a 94 yj 4.0 and The other day I was driving down the road and hit a pothole and my left front wheel started to wobble all over the place. I got it home and looked at it everything appears fine. I replaced the hub/wheel bearing today and it got all new ball joints and tie rods for inspection in October. I just got back from driving it and it started again all the lug nuts are tight. Anybody have a clue what it could be? Could I have gotten a defective ball joint maybe? Any help or advice is appreciated thanks

Nope weights are still there. Any other ideas
Have you jacked that wheel off the ground and checked for anything loose?

Thats it jack that side up like Charley said, then try to turn the wheel side to side, and up and down, also check for slack in the steering box, it chould be bouth front tires shaking. good luck, you don't want a joint to come lose!

I jacked it up earlier today and tried that there was a slight play but I assumed it was the wheel bearing so I replaced it. I'm gonna get back to work on it tomorrow morning. Ill see if there's still some play in it. If it is the steering box how do you fix or replace it. Ive never run into this problem before. Thanks fellas

I had the same thing happen to me, tire was out of balance, hadn't lost any weights either.. Try swapping tires from rear to front

There is a post onJeep Forum from a mechanic who does wheel alignments. It's a detailed write up of terms and what they mean when dealing with the frontend of a jeep. Check it out if u can find as it has a few paragraphs on death wobbles. Gives causes and corrections.

Fixed the problem. The two bolts in the caliper were stripped so it was loose and flopping around. Took it on a 40 mile ride no issues, thanks again
