I have been having a heck of a time deciding which one i want for the last two weeks, heres what i got right now: (05 TJ 3.73 auto)

My two options are 1 :

2.25 BB
1.25 Bl
1 MML

Or 2 : 4 inch lift


(i really want to run 33x12.5.....hows that going to do with the gears i have?)

How would a lift like this be?

Whats a good 4 inch lift that comes with everything i would need? Which do you recomend for a good price?


The only thing im worried about with the 4inch is the drive shaft. I could upgrade that later but how would it drive with just the transfer case drop?

I would have to say go with a 4" . I was trying to find which one would work for me also. My budget and trying to get the most bang for my buck were my two biggest concerns. The Rough Country Stage II kit comes with everything you need and it performs great. You can get everything you need with upgraded shocks and a new steering stabilizer for $584 plus shipping. I've had this kit on for about 3 months now and its great and the costumer service at Rough Country can not be beat. Most people do not have any problems with any drive line vibs and if you do you could always install a SYE. I only have slight vibs at around 65 but its not to bad so I'm going to leave everything like it is. I also run 33X12.50's with the 3.73 gears. The only difference is mine is a 5spd. I can notice a little loss in power but not very much.

you should have enough power. i'd say do the BB or a 2"-2.5" coil lift and a 1" body lift to avoid driveline vibes that many people get at 4 inches. now if you have the $$$ to buy a sye and a cv driveshaft then i would definitely go with the 4". otherwise i would go with the other setup. at 4 inches the driveshaft can pull out of the t case or even jam in it. you can lower the t case but you'll lose clearance and like i said the driveshaft can pull out and you can still very possibly get vibes even with a t case drop.

if you do go with a 4" i have heard also heard that the rough country is the best bang for the buck with the worst part being the shocks.

what do you guys think of the "tuff country" kit.. i read about it this mourning and it looks ok to a offroad newb.. Its a 4" as well...

I am as inexperienced as anyone you can ask. But I've been researching the same basic question.

I've got an '06 w/3.73 and a 6-speed. I have tentatively (since I won't do anything until after the holidays) decided to go with a 4.5" RE Superflex, and do the SYE and CV kits. (33x12.50's are my goal as well) The reasoning for going with the RE is that if I decide to go bigger a few years down the road, I can add the long-arm and a 1" body kit, ring & pinions for a better ratio. It just makes for an easier upgrade path.

My $0.02 - and overpriced at that.

why not go rough country? i doubt tuff country is any better.

many more people run rough country. tuff country is more expensive.

true but a BB is about as cheap as they come besides a body lift. if your going with a 4.5 i would go straight to the 4.5 longarm. it isn't much more expensive to do the BB/BL and then take it off and go straight to a long arm later. but the 4.5" is definitely a good idea if you have the cash now.
