Trying to figure out what snatch block I need? I have 5/16" wire M8000. Started a different thread but not much input. Most winchers carrying a snatch block? And beside the grove and size being right for the wire size, what is the difference? Besides the huge difference in cost? I know I need at least 16k capacity. There are $25 and there are $175 with the same capacity...

I hope that I don't need it much, so do people go without, or go cheap or go safe?

I use Warn. I bought there winch accessory kit years ago. Jeeps are light and the block helps get the right angle and power needed to get someone out who is stuck good. Gives you a lot more options. I don't think I paid $150 for the hole kit which included the block, tow strap and some chain all in a nice carrying bag.

I think that comes with a warn 88899 and is around $65. That one is one my short list. I think that is the right way to go, not a super cheap one.

I have the M8000s and also purchased the Warn recovery kit. Great deals to be found on EBAY. $125 if my memory serves me.
