I think you will also need the NSG-370 Bell Housing because the bolt pattern is different between the 6-speed and any earlier manual transmission. The AX5, AX15, and NV3550J were all the same bolt pattern, but the Mercedes-Benz NSG-370 pattern was different. I'm not sure if you can re-drill, either.
You'll need one that came out of a 4.0l. The bell housing is part of the tranny. You will also need the flywheel with the pilot bearing in it. That goes with the 6 speed. And the clutch disc pressure plate and slave cylinder all parts are 6 speed specific! Trust me I replaced mine in my 06 2.4l with a 5 speed. I had to change everything!
