My 92 YJ doesn't have A/C, so I practically die when the weather gets really hot. I looked around and found portable fans powered by a cigarette lighter, so I went and made sure my lighter worked, and sure enough it still does (everything inside is original), so I went ahead and bought a $20 fan, got it and assembled it, started my Jeep and the adapter doesn't fit into the lighter, I tried twisting it every way it could go and even pushing in the side pins, nothing. But, I tried plugging it into my mom's Blazer (2004) and my dad's Trailblazer (2008) and it didn't fit into theirs, either. I sent it back, but before I buy another fan, I was wondering if there was any hope for some cool air this summer, or if I have to suffer the heat with a crap battery-powered fan you'd only see at peewee baseball games.

Yes you can say things like "roll the windows down" or "take the top off", but 1, I have soft doors so I'd have to take the windows out, which is a pain to put back in when I'm cutting it close for work and school, and 2, I'm in Ohio and we're having a rainy summer here, so I don't want to have to call off work every time I see dark clouds coming (my top always shrinks, so it's hard to put it back on instantly).

Yeah just did a trip and came home through Death Valley at over 110. Not pretty heat sucked my horsepower and it was hot.

Top off might be the easy solution along with half or tube doors.

But it is always fun driving a YJ

I've only tried cell phone or other chargers but haven't had any issues with fitment?

Since the adapter didn't fit into the other vehicles. I'd say that model fan was kinda bogus. Try another source - the lighter/power plug on the Jeep is not an unusual item and should fit most things. My phone charger works great on mine. Alot of autoparts stores will let you try it t see if it fits before you buy ... I always ask them.

I looked on Autozone's website and they have a similar fan in stock at my store, I'll ask to try first.
