Short answer: Yes. Your '99 has a different intake manifold than older 4.0's, and you'll want to keep it. 2000 and newer XJ's went away from the distributor/wires setup to a coil on plug, but all you have to do is toss in a distributor and plug wires and you're good. '96-99 should be a direct swap though. Have fun swapping!!
