Hello,

I own a 2007 Jeep Wrangler X and I recently upgraded my my stock 225/75/16 tires to Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs in a 285/70/17. In order to do this I installed a Teraflex levelling kit and purchased new Silver Rugged Ridge 17 inch wheels with 4.75 inch back spacing. My dilemma now is that I do not want to ruin my silver rugged ridge wheels by driving them in the winter as winters in Canada are quite harsh. I would however like to drive my Duratracs year round. The way I see it I have two options.

1.) Purchase a used take-off set of 17 inch stock wheels and purchase Spidertrax spacers to prevent the tires from rubbing.

2.) Purchase an aftermarket winter set of wheels with proper backspacing.

My questions are as follows:

1.) Is it harsh on the tires to remount new wheels twice a year.
2.) Should I look into steel wheels for the winter or alloy?
3.) Does anyone know what the cheapest option for me would me?
4.) Does anyone have any suggestions for a cheap winter wheels with proper backspacing?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
