93 yj 2.5 170k .. started missing. Got home. Looked under hood... Oil leaking out of breather box, opened it and its FILLED with oil.... Massive blowby ! This means toasted motor probably? Bad rings or lifters? I read on http://www.wranglerforum.com/f8/oh-no-blown-engine-162792.html about a mentioned problem and jeep program for these motors? Maybe bad lifters? I'm not sure what it said.... Anyways ... Information... Help... And donations are accepted...

Not always someone was on here the other day and it was too much oil after a change. So how much oil is in there some is acceptable because as the vapors cool they revert back to liquid. It could be a worn engine how many miles???

I just changed my oil tonight and I bought the jug which is actually 5 litres which is a lot more than 4 quarts so check the oil level on the stick first. Then clean everything up and check you PCV or CCV and clean that. Check all the vacuum lines to make sure they are in goood shape.

Like I said some is accetable if it loooks like a drain ppan then there are some issues but not the end of the world yet.

Read the attached.

Engine has 170 k ... I did not notice any pcv valve in the tube on valve cover... I thought that odd.. either way I'm not exaggerating.... Oil was filling my breather... Filter was literally soaked.. I assume the missfire was from oil soaked plugs... Something has let go, what u think and what's options... I haven't had my jeep long, and love it... But money ain't free... What does interest me is a 4.3 swap.... What years/trans/tcase are suitable and is this a moderate or super hard swap? Ugh thanks

Did this happen after driving off road....my 93 did pretty much the same thing, and it turned out that I had dented my oil pan up enough that it forced some pretty massive blowby.... my fix was to drop the pan and pound out the dent....and replace my bump stops that had totally rotted away which allowed my oil pan to be dented!

How do bumpstops stop your oil pan from getting hit?

Haha no. I've only had the jeep 2600 short miles... Ugh... I guess the PO didn't enlighten me to the full reason he was selling... Ugh makes me sick.

If you check the CCV or what is also the PCV, it is a brass conector on the valve cover... Do yourseld a favor, remove the valve cover and then remove the smaller covers in the valve cover, I just did this and mine were completley blocked, i was haveing all kinds of blow by.... one is the fresh air and one is the CCV... they help to equalize the pressure in the engine...
