hey guys; Been searching through the forum trying to find some help installing my new DS460 (Kicker Factory Replacement Front Dash Speaker Kits) because they were shipped without instructions but I could not find one. If any one has a picture guide that they could link me to or explain it step by step i would really appreciate it. Sorry if this a repeat post but really want to setup my new speakers.

The kickers should have come with wiring extensions with push clips already attached. The back of the speakers have small and large male ends the correspond with the wiring extensions for the female ends. Unless you have a wiring adapter to plug and play, you have to cut the factory wiring as close to the clip as possible. Should only be 2 wires to cut. Positive and negative. You need to check and make sure which wire is which. Flipping the wires incorrectly could damage your speakers. You'll need to strip the factory wires and crimp the wires provided from kicker. Again make sure you know which is the positive and negative lead. Crimp your wires together screw the speakers in and test em t make sure they work. Do one at a time! Lemme know if u need more guidance.

I not sure i really understand. So your telling my to cut the plug off at the end of the extension that i received with speakers. Then cut off the old speakers and use the plugs that i received and attach the right leads to each other. I got 4 little red plugs that I can stick wire in on both sides. Should i crimp these plugs with both wires in it? its a very hard plastic...

Well heres the problem it seem the person who i had bought the jeep from had cut them off to put in his own system and he used butt connectors to put wire togethor for his system. So can u tell me where are the wire lead then I can easly connect new wires for new plug with butt connectors and just do the same as he did xD

Glad u got that working! Use ur new decks color code chart and match it to the jeeps. Crimp em together and make are there is nooooo bare wire exposed so you don't short the deck and blow the fuse. U could probably get an adapter for that to avoid more cutting and crimping from best buy or amazon. But if ur like me you do it the hard way!

Nalin, all of the reviews of this harness adapter, from wrangler owners, say that it doesn't fit our TJ's. I bought the Metra 72-6512 set, as they also claim to fit our TJ's, and they do not fit. Is there any clarification on these? Maybe there are two different plugs in different Jeeps? I know it shouldn't be a big deal, but I really hate to cut the factory wiring in my '06 Rubi. Thanks!
