What does everyone plan on doing with the next to rainless days?
I plan on putting some miles on my Jeep with the top and doors off. :punk:

i found some similar issues on various forums. one guy said the dealership told him bad axle seal. but Tsnell smelled it, and said it was brake fluid, no?
i'll find out for sure from the dealership in a few minutes.

I have been keeping an eye on the weather like its the last thing on earth to do. So we had a couple days where it was nice and they showed rain coming in on Wednesday around noon. That means I'm good and I can put the Jeep back together when I get to work that morning.....yeah right!

I wake up Wednesday morning and my wife says...your welcome. Ok Thank You for what, for me putting the Jeep back together at 4am in the pouring rain! I couldn't believe it!

So I ride to work with water pouring in everywhere, 3 inches on the floorboards and with two towels on the seat....I'm still soaked when I get to work! First time I every rode to work in a bucket of water! Now I have been doing my best to get everything dried out.

Funny thing about all this is that I wouldn't change owning a Jeep for anything else. Bad part...I may have to pull the carpet to get rid of that damp, closed up moldy smell. I hope we get two days without rain but I won't be listening to the weather man anymore, only job you can keep when your 90% wrong all the time!

FLGator this is true and in GA it literally can change hourly.
Nothing else I have it ready for the soft top. Much easier to take off than the hardtop. So when the opportunity arises I can pull the top quickly.

Did you pull the drain plugs?

Pull the plugs and carpet. Hang the carpet on a line and drive the Jeep with no doors. The wind will dry the seats fast.

When it happened we had rain the next 2 days and I couldn't really open it back up. So I pulled the plugs and parked it in the garage with fans inside and kept the windows cracked during the day with the rain. Then...

I sprayed the hell out of the carpets with carpet order eliminator, added damp rid, packs of baking soda and got her naked while the rain has been gone. Dried up and no smell! All that I guess I could have pulled the carpet but looks like I have to cut them to get them out.

Thanks for the info though!!
