hows it goin guys? i have a question for yall. i have a 1989 yj wrangler, with half hard doors and half soft doors. now i want to get full hard doors to go with the hard top i just bought. only problem is, they are pretty freakin rare.
ive heard however, that cj hard doors, (or some version of them) will work with a yj. i just need to know if it will work before i go shopping around.

any ideas/help/experience?

I'm not sure if your saying full hard doors are rare or what but if you are. What state are you in. I know of over 600 sets of hard doors rust free sitting in multiple junk yards and used jeep part dealers here in Michigan.

600!? You should definately start pulling them and selling them as well . Especially if they are in good shape . Just a business suggestion , I would buy a good set myself AND pay the shipping if I could find a rust free pair to replace my older battered doors !

Bgurney5 , Depending on what style top you have, full hard doors may or may not fit . Is your rear upper corner of your door jam now rounded or squared ? Is it a factory style top or a tiger top ?

CJ7 doors will fit a YJ. I have an older set for my YJ. They have the turn-down handles. They have different strikers than the YJ. In order to use them you simply remove the latch assembly from the YJ tub and fabricate a new striker from a small piece of angle iron. Very simple to do. That being said, I don't know if CJ doors are any easier to find than Wrangler doors. It does give you an extra option to choose from. Around here (Central Ohio) a good set of full doors for a Wrangler will fetch anywhere from $450 to $900. Sometimes you'll see CJ doors a lot cheaper, that's how I came to have mine.

on my hardtop, the top corner is rounded. its a typical factory style hard top, with the regular style opening for the door.

I was half asleep and left some stuff out... I meant your SOFT top . What style is the original doors , depending on the style you might be able to use your softies with your hard top . Yea if they are square you are s.o.l. . As far a cj doors I believe the hinges don't line up (different spacing) but the the dimensions are the same

ok so the original doors that came with the jeep, are the half hard ones. then i got the top half (soft half) that has a rounded corner that works with my soft top. everything is fine for now im just lookin to upgrade. and ill just have to get a cj door, and just test fit it to see how everything fits. because ive heard everything from the striker not fitting, the hinges (like you said) or the whole door just not working at all ha!
