When you see a set of half doors for sale on ebay for $550 and think that's not bad. Then they arrive and you think, well they need to be painted to match, so you start the process. But then realize that the paint on the trusty steed has faded, so why not have the whole Jeep and half door painted at the same time so the half doors will match. Then you make a list of items on the exterior that need to be updated/replaced.
Months later, the Jeep is painted, along with new seals and new top (need uppers to match after all) a new fender, wheels and tires, etc. etc. etc. The bargain half doors wind up costing you many thousands (actual cost is classified) and a list of parts installed that is over 70 items. But, hey, it looks great and really a lot different.
