The v8 zj coil swap seems to be a very cheap and good way to give a mild suspension lift. But I need to know if you can leave your stock shocks on with the lift. I wont be wheeling until I get new ones but this will just be for looks. So can i leave everything else stock besides the springs? If anybody knows about this advise would be greatly appreciated.

i did the swap and didnt replace the shocks but i put them on to stop the sag with the winch and heavy metal bumper and it brought it back to stock height. the zj springs are shorter out of the jeep compared to the tjs and i dont know if it will give you a lift. it is a nicer ride though.

ok so you did the spacers in the rear with stock springs. Does it ride nice with this and are the front and rear spacers the same? I'm a little ify on using the front coils on the rear but the pucks seem expensive :(

I ran the spacers in the rear only on the stock springs. The front as all ZJ spring. I was shocked that they were the same uncompressed length as the stock springs, but the spring rate is higher resulting in less sag. I liked the ride since they were tighter and resulted in a lot less roll on turns. I have since replaced that suspension, but they were nice while I had them. It was way better than when I was running front and rear spacers.

I think id like stiffer springs on my front end my jeep has 200k miles on it and the springs seem to give alot of roll. Did you do this lift with leaving stock components shocks/ sway bar links ect.?

I already had longer shocks and link prior to installing the springs.
