Was wondering if anyone has recently installed the zone 4" lift kit. I know it has been posted previously but companies are constantly changing their kits. Just curious on how hard it was to install, on road quality, and off road quality/flex. Thanks

I haven't installed Zone's 4" lift, but have installed another companies 4" lift on mine, and helped my son install Zone's 4.25" Combo lift on his. If I had mine to do over, I would go for the combo lift. No transfer case drop, and the suspension part of the lift is 3" coupled with a 1" motormount lift and 1.25" body lift. Nice set up for the $'s, and no vibes.

So you think the combo is the better deal? I really don't like the look of a body lift and really like the clearance of the suspension that's why I was going for the 4" suspension.

The body lift combined with the motor mount lift will prevent you from using a TC drop, which will counteract the lift. You really won't notice that extra inch without a double check. Also, it'll set you up for a ultra-high clearance t-case skid.

Well that sounds like a good deal. So it would just be extended brake lines I'm guessing?
If you are going to wheel it, I would get longer fronts. Really don't think you would need a longer back.

Like OmniscientHiers said, you really don't notice the 1 1/4" bl and you'll be ready for a higher clearance tc skid. A couple of other benefits are that it keeps your steering geometry just that much closer to stock, and you gain an 1" of oil pan clearance. If you decide to go that way, select the quik disconnect option on the sway bar links.

I haven't put a 4" Zone lift on my TJ since last Saturday :) Seriously, I just picked it up last weekend.

I added a Rubicon Express adjustable front trackbar, nitro shocks, sway bar quick disconnects and Rubicon Express adjustable rear upper control arms. The rear upper control arms were necessary to get the vibes out so I'm glad I went for these. I have 285/70/17 tires (~33") and they almost look too small with the current height. I have a soft top and expect it to drop after it gets broken in and I add new bumpers. Overall, it rides very well and was a great bang for the buck. I'll be swapping out the TC drop for a SYE and CV driveshaft in the very near future but it feels great now.

The 4.25" Combo kit makes sense as it comes...so if you are on a budget, it is the way to go. The 3" kit requires a xfercase drop. And the 4" kits requires a xfercase drop (really should have a SYE/CV) and comes with control arm that are sort of "ya get what ya pay for"...who knows how long the bushings will last or will be available for replacement.

So the 4.25" combo kit makes the most sense as ya keep the belly clearance and you retain the stock arms.

I put the zone 4 inch lift on my jeep about 8 months ago regeared the axles and with the transfer case drop I don't really feel much drive line vibes but my seals on the differential are starting to slowly leak if you go for inch plan on spending a lot more money down the road for the adjustable control arms sye/cv just my 2 cent I would do the combo lift if I was to do it again

Appreciate the input guys. I do plan on doing a SYE and new driveshaft anyway. I'll look more in to the combo lift though. If you really can't notice the body lift. I do plan on wheeling it pretty hard

Heres a pic of my 99 with essentially the 4.25" kit...not running a tcase drop since i have the 1" mml installed.

This pic was as of about 3-4 weeks ago. I've changed a few things recently which i'll post pics of but it hasnt changed a ton. Its an inch taller front and rear as well as new control arms, steering, axles, and my sye/cv shaft.

Gives you an idea, though.

Nice thing about the combo lift is that it gives you time to go out and play without your tc skid hanging down an extra 1 1/2" while you save for the $1000-$1500 that it's going to take to do the SYE/DS, control arms, adjustable track bar..blah,blah,blah :D

Although not as cool as these other guys, here's a picture of mine. I'm running 33x11.5's on 17 Moab wheels. I plan on doing the SYE/CV very soon. If you have the budget, go with the 4" knowing that you have to do a SYE, CV, adjustable upper control arms, etc. Otherwise, go with the combo lift and save a few bucks.

Yeah that does make sense. While I'm saving for that RE long arm and everything needed with it I might as well save a few bucks for now. Do I still need to extend brake lines with the combo? And thanks for the pics too your jeeps look great definitely can't tell there's a body lift there
