Just wondering if anyone has a yj with a soft top that works with full hard doors? I have a hard top and full hard doors, but recently bought a soft top no doors. This top is for the square upper soft doors and leaves a large gap with the hard doors on. One of the channels for this top from the windshield back to the roll bar is broken, the drivers side, but the passengers side is intact. They are square for the soft doors. Just wondering if those would be molded differently for the full hard doors or if the top woud just have the extra fabric door surrounds. I am thinking about buying replacements, but im not sure what I need. If you have a top that will work with the full hard doors and can answer any of my questions I would appreciate any and all advice. Pics of the hardware on the jeep would be awesome as well.

i just put my soft top on my 87 YJ yesterday and i have full doors and it fits nicely i think... no real gaps... not as tight as a hardtop but it works... i have a bestop supertop which is meant to fit will full steal doors part #51599
the replacement A top wont work with full steel doors. jeep was stupid when they designed the soft top and half doors.

Thanks for the replies. I really didnt want to have to buy new doors. I would like to have half hard doors so I could just take off the uppers, but I already have full hard doors and soft half doors and didnt want more doors sitting in the garage. Hard top looks good with full doors, soft top not so much but it keeps some of the water out while I build the jeep.

I bought mine through the dealership, way back when. The side windows are a different shape for the full doors, and there is a two piece frame that goes around the doors. I think the main top and back window are the same though.
Besttop sells a hardwear kit for jeeps with full hard doors it comes with a metal bar thats molded to the shape of the full hard doors, I think I paid $650 for the top and hardware kit it fits great Hear is a pic note I have my rear windows out.
