I would take the lever to a local welding shop and have them weld a section of thread back on there. It sounds funny but all they have to do is get a bolt that matches the size and thread count. Cut the head off and weld on the rest.

 

That is the easiest/cheapest thing to do. I used to work in a machine shop in Oklahoma when I lived there. It is simple and takes about 15-20 min if they aren't busy, and doesn't cost much.

 

if you cant get to a welding shop id recommend a junk yard. im pretty sure thats not a commonly needed part.

You can epoxy the shift knob on there too. That is what I see people do a lot. Epoxy is usually less than $5.00


Now if you have the time and tools...... I installed a body lift and had to do something with the shifters so I extended mine by drilling the center and threading it on the shifter and a new 1/2" piece of metal and threaded them together with a piece of threaded rod (I think it was 3/16). Then used a die and threaded the other end for the shifter knob. Then brazed them together. The 4wd shifet was just cut and extended the same way but my threads were intact. It looks good IMO, and was a good excuse to drink a few cold ones:whistling:
This may be harder, but I had the stuff around.
