Issue with sticker removal

So I have a 2007 sahara unlimited and wanted to replace the sahara fender stickers with some other decals I purchased. I was able to get the left side off and cleaned up just fine. The ride side has become a different story. The decal came off just fine. However, where the decal was there seems to be almost and indent of the stickers outline. I have tried goo gone, and a few other things and it doesnt come off. This is not sticky at all, but you can easily catch your fingernail on it. What if anything can I do to get rid of this outline????

My first thought would be wax build up. a good clay baring would take care of that.

A very mild abrasive like Meguiar's Cleaner Wax should do it. It's the Swiss Army Knife of drive way detailing help.

Yep clay bar and a bit of polish should fix it right up....

I used a heat gun on low to soften up the residue, then used brake cleaner and a cloth to wipe the gunk away. Couple coats of wax, and we're good as new. Use caution not to get brake cleaner on anything plastic, it will discolor!

I use a gum rubber wheel in my air drill gets rid of the decal and the edge that seems to build up around the decal.

3m pin stripe remover wheel, it's the best tool for removing stickers or decals.
