Not really a consideration on a used jeep. Too much modification for it to have much meaning.
If it comes with a soft top you can still buy a hardtop. Same if i t comes with a hard top you can get a soft top. Switch out radios and navigation systems or a subwofer.
They all have same engine and either a manual or automatic transmission.
If you want a rock crawler with any gears "better than" a rubicon than get a sport S and switch out axles - put axles and gears that you want.
I knew I wanted a 4 door with a hard top and manual transmission. So I tried to price out the Sport with AC and a Sport S . As I recall I had to get the Sport S to get AC. But then I deleted anything power - so no power locks or mirrors .
I went with Max tow to get the heavier springs and the gears as I do not intend to regear any higher. If that gear is not good enough for you then do not get the tow option use after market hitch and wiring as it is cheaper that way , if you are going to regear higher than 3.7 .
I added the security lock boxes under both front seats, mounted the Garmen I already had in the jeep- I like it better as I can take it out and use it while walking , boating or use in anther vehicle. Jeep navigation system is only usable in the Jeep.
Also added seat covers, grab handles , rockers, wiring for a pin trailer lights, some extra outlets, additional lights, CB radio , ham radio, mounted fire extinguishers , mount for high lift jack, winch, rock guards for headlights and running lights, grill guard, hood locks, limb lifters, roof rack , refrigerator and modified rear bumper to hold water.
Folks would say you need to lift and get bigger tires but for gravel roads and rough roads I am good Real Rock climbing no.
If I were in the Mountains or far north I would put in seat heaters, engine heater and heated mirrors.
