Hi guys 1st post.

I'm looking at buying a 2012 unlimited MW3 or a 2013 Rubicon Unlimited.

The MW3 has everything except nav. which i like since i prefer aftermarket. It would be debadged since im not a gamer.

or i can go 2013 Rubi without leather but has the 430 Uconnect.

Both have hard and soft tops and the same options, Rubi is 40k and the MW3 is 41k.

Here is the question, is it a good deal to go with the 1yr older MW3 minus the nave for 1k more than the Rubicon?

Thanks

'13.

Why would you buy a theme Jeep, and remove the theme? That's like going to the circus and not riding the Tilt-A-Whirl.

Plus the '13's the 2nd year of a redesign...who knows, maybe Chrysler got a few kinks worked out. Sounds good, anyway.

Go Rubi for less.

Is the MW3 used or just a left over?

I was looking at the same thing, except I was more interested in getting a good deal on the MW3. I was hoping to get a 44k jeep for like 38. :) That didn't happen, so I ordered a 13.

I think people have already pointed out the pros and cons of the MW3 - bumpers and rails (pro), might get a messed up engine (con). If you don't care about the MW3 badging and will replace the bumpers anyway, no real reason to take a chance on the '12.

Definitely go with the 2013 Rubi. Plus, if you're patient and can wait for a custom order, you can buy a new one for much less than $40K. As you'll see on this Forum, ordering a new Rubi for 1%-3% under invoice isn't that hard.

Good luck!

I'm gonna go against everyone here get the 12 because you can get a better deal on it or for the same price as the rubi and it has leather and everything else the rubi has. So your getting free leather and the black wheels and other cool stuff that came with it. Find out when it was produced my take on the head issues is that they are mostly from early produced models like from 2011 my 12 was produce in June 2012 so I felt confident grabbing it at a great price. But the leather for free is the catch for me the car is sweet well they both r but if you can get the features for free why not?

I'd say the 2012 MW3 as well, the Bumpers and rock rails are serious money buying them after market. Plus you get the full monty warranty from Jeep.

Remember the '12, even though new, has already depreciated a year. You're better off with the '13 unless they make you a hell of a deal on the '12.

Thanks for all the advice!

I love the color of the mw3 (silver, matching hard top and fenders) and really think i will just take off the exterior badging. I have no problem with the build # badging and even the MW3 on the seats (i love the white stitching) but god i hate that they put call of duty on the headrest.

I do like the rest of the add on's, bumper, hood etc. So i think once the badges, tire cover and headrests find a new home in a box i'll be good to go.

Thanks again

40k out the door.
I'd pass especially since you don't really like what makes it "special". Order a '13 exactly how you want it.

As pointed out, most the COD package price is actually because of the bumpers, hood, etc. Not the badging. So really it is a matter of how much you want to spend, what you want to do with it and how you want it to look. The AEV gear on the COD is nice stuff for sure and that one is cheaper. Equipping the 13 with similiar items will set you back a few thousand dollars. I had the same choice and ended up going with a 13 because I wanted a particular color and I also didn't want my Jeep to look like a bunch of others, at least 3499 not including the ones that just AEV themselves out. Get a better deal on the 13 if you can and add some of your own flair.
