2015 JKU Fuel Tank Capacity

The only times I have seen anything remotely close to the EPA 21 MPG on a JKU was on a tank that was all highway driving, at 65 MPH, with the front air dam on, on stock tires properly inflated, no lift, no spacers, no cargo, no hills, no side wind, no traffic congestion, on a Saturday, in the middle of May, in a leap year.

Under any other set of circumstances, you will be lucky to get more than 18 MPG.

To expect a 450-mile range based on an EPA of 21 MPG is like expecting a weekend after every Tuesday: it just ain't gonna happen.

Good luck,

Aldo

Did anyone verify that the tank is one size for two door and four door jk meaning the usual 18.5 gallons at station is reserve tank float and every jk two or four door really is 22.5 gallons.

With lift and 33.0 tires non aero front bumper I gained 16.5 to 18.0 mpg with shell 87 from using Sunoco 87 before.

I am just trying to google tank size
This is the first time I hear that a lift and larger tires get you better fuel economy.

If I were you I’d patent it...
