Trying to make a decision. I am getting a 2017 JKU Freedom Edition this week. If you are familiar, it has a beefed up suspension system and max tow package. Dealer wants to know if I want to add 2" lift. Thoughts? Will putting the Mopar 2" on be wasting the package that comes with the Freedom Edition? If I get 2" lift, what tires should I put on it? I feel leaving the 255's will look odd. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. BTW, the dealer wants $2400 for lift kit installed, plus tire price....

I don't think the Freedom Edition has any different suspension than the Sport. If you want a lift, I say go for it. As to the tires, it all depends on what you plan to do. I love my BFG All-Terrains. My BFG Mud-Terrains were okay, but the ATs are so much better on road. Duratracs or BFG ATs would be Murphy choice if mostly in road. Welcome to the club!

Just so everyone has this straight, the Freedom edition is based on the Sahara. The Sahara (and in turn the Freedom Edition) has different shocks than the Sport and Rubicon. There's nothing else that's special about the suspension.

Thanks. What do I do with my shocks and springs and drive shaft that came off when they put the lift on? Is there someone out there that would buy this stuff?
They put in a new drive shaft for a 2" lift?

Your stock parts don't really have much value unless you find someone who has broken one of those parts; you could put them up on Craigs list for a minimal amount and try. Even for free is better than the landfill.

Freedom Edition is based off a Sport. Any questions look at the quick order numbers it is based off the sport model. This year it adds some Sahara touches the wheels and painted fender flares. I have the tow package and mine came with 17/59 Springs and the heavy duty shocks.

The Mopar 2" lift comes with a new front drive shaft...and $2400 for it installed is a pretty good deal!

My 2016 Oscar Mike Freedom Edition (RIP) had a sport suspension, but 3.73 option. It was called Heavy Duty, but it was not. Far different than the new 2017 Winter Edition Rubi suspension and 3.73. I installed leveling kit and 285's. Runs like a charm.

The sticker says " heavy duty suspension and shocks", 44/226mm rear axle, 3.73 front/ rear axle ratio, trac-lok differential rear axle. tires that come on it are P255/70R18 OWL
I had a 2016 FE with 3.73 and "upgraded suspension. Its not. Its the sport suspension with Trac and 3.73. Sahara is the next suspension up and it feels completely different.
