Hi everyone,

I've been having an intermittent issue with my 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL. It all started a few months ago when I was driving in town and received an alert saying service ABS system. It stayed on for a few days then went away. A couple of days later it came back up along with every other light on my dash; ABS, traction control, parking brake, check engine light, start/stop unavailable, service shifter, and service 4WD. My speedometer doesn't work and sometimes the shifter knob locks up. I did unhook the battery to reset everything and that worked for like a day and the only light that stayed on was the check engine light; then everything eventually flared up again. I replaced the main battery last month and the aux battery last year. I did take it to a Jeep dealership hoping that they had some information but of course, when I took the vehicle in the lights weren't on so they couldn't help me. It had gotten to a point where this was happening intermittently every day then it stopped for about a month. I haven't had any issues and the check engine light was also gone. But today it lit up like a Christmas tree again. Has anyone else dealt with this, if so what did you do to fix it?

This:

Welcome to the forum!

Possible culprits are:
  1. Weak auxiliary and/or main battery
  2. Loose fuses
  3. Defective canbus connector --sitting behind the glove box
There is a sticky on electrical issues here: https://www.wranglerforum.com/threa...lectronic-and-electrical-issues-common-problems-and-possible-solutions.2450822/

Good luck.
But I'll add that I've read that the high amp fuse array can cause squirrely issues like this too.

And you need to ensure all your main battery connections are tight.

Thank you for the heads up. I bought 2 new batteries ,very tight and the Jeep dealers that have had the truck 5 different times went through can bus and fuses. I can't even trade it on a new jeep lol.

What do you mean "went through can bus and fuses"? Did they replace the canbus?

There is a recall on this and a known problem. It's nothing you've done wrong
