I feel your pain. These 4XE vehicles are not ready for mass production or sales like normal ICE vehicles.
I just traded in a 2023 Wrangler 4XE Sahara with less than 10k on it because the transmission was leaking due to a cracked transmission case.
The case was on national backorder and so I decided to get rid of it while it sat at the dealer. It's a huge problem that is becoming ever more common on the 4XE Jeeps. They replaced the pan, gasket, cooler lines, and finally found the crack in the case.
The difference you and I have is that I have a 13 year relationship with the CDJR dealer I bought it from with at least one, if not two vehicles per year purchased/leased from them.
When I told them I was fed up with the problem, they bent over backwards to get me out of the lease at no cost to me and got me into a Grand Cherokee that is a very choice ride and best of all is an ICE vehicle with a proven engine and transmission.
The service team, sales team and management team did the best they could to keep me as a customer.
I guess my dealer is abnormal, because they have always got whatever repair I thought was best approved.
I live in Massachusetts where the carbon neutral laws are limiting our ability to get gas wranglers. So I decided to go for the 4xe with the faith that if something went wrong, Jeep would step up and help me.
Mine died at 1,000 miles and left me stranded. The dealer has now had it for 14 days and Jeep corporate is determined to swap out the hybrid system and force me to stay in this pile.
Be careful. If something goes wrong, they won’t make good these days. The service is absolutely terrible.
