Does anyone have a link or know what the different wires are on a 22 pin wiring harness for a '16 JKU?
I'm about to put in a Boss BVCP9700A unit and remove the factory stereo but cannot find the diagram on what the wires are.

Any help is appreciated.

You can see all connector pinouts circuit name and wire color here

connectors.dcctools.com

free and instant

stock jk radio has 2 22pin and one 10 pin possible harness connectors

all have gray 22 pin with a big pin on each edge
Big ones are battery and ground

next to battery top on in same line as battery pin is can low for can IHS bus
Directly below it is can high for IHS can bus
Near ground are one row of 4 speaker wires if you have factory amp or two populated rows of 4 speaker wires if you don’t have factory amp
Only other wire is to supply power for amplified antenna

the gray10 pin is for uconnect module or with RHR nav radio wires for microphone

white 22 pin is audioand video in and out for rear seat entertainment screen(s) mostly used on mini vans

The IHS bus is the interior high speed data bus
Components attached to the bus both send and receive digital messages with a 125 thousand cycle per second frequency of pulses
On a high pulse the high and low are 5 volts and zero volts
On a low pulse both wires are at about 2.5 volts
The TIPM (fuse box under the hood) translates data between the engine control 500 thousand cycle per second Can C bus and Can C diagnostic bus and the 125 can ihs bus

Over the can bus the radio receives digital messages that tell it things like
Dash illumination level
Transmission range switch position
Vehicle speed
Key switch position
If there is a factory amp on the ihs bus
Which steering wheel radio control switches are being pushed
Time of day

the radio sends out info like volume balance fade and tone (treble base) to factory amp
Station and mode info for dash display

To get the accessory (key controlled) power wire your new radio needs look to power port (aka cigarette lighter port)

inside the TIPM (big fuse box under hood) only one of the fuses has a single extra hole next to it
That is the fuse for the power port and it has 3 holes for insertion so it can be inserted in holes 1-2 or holes 2-3
One way power port has always on battery power the other way it has accessory power and if configured that way you can tie into that circuit for new radio red accessory power wire
