Adding wiring for rear defrost and wiper

My 2002 TJ came with a nice hard top, but one that must not have been original.

It has the rear defrost, and a hole in the glass for a wiper. But there is no wiring going to the back of the Jeep for these things, nor are there switches up front for them.

How hard would it be to add this wiring and the switches necessary? Might some vendor out there sell a kit that does this?

Living in Minnesota, I would LOVE to have rear defrost as an option.

I assume it is a factory top. Wiper assembly can be installed. Note you need to know 97-02 or 03-06 holes in glass are different.

Get the mopar wiring kit for the year of the jeep. If the top is from a different year 97-02 03-06 you will jave to modify the plug

There are after markets kits avaible that have all the pieces you need.
I think Morris sells one.

There are kits that others have mentioned, but I don't need the rear washer so I plan on running two circuits controlled by 2 switches. One for the wiper and one for for the defrost. There are lots of wiring diagrams on the forum and the net to see what needs power/ground/ect. I haven't done this yet but when I have some free time I plan to get them wired up. Good luck!
