Just fir fun, Who has them?

I've been looking at them online. I have the ARB dual compressor under my hood already. I just need the tank, horns, and all of the little parts. I don't think I'd use it for anything good. Just honking at people on their cell phones.

I keep forgetting to ask my neighbor what “air horns” he has in his garage. They are not real air horns (operate on 12vdc, but have actual horn shape), but they’re loud! The need isn’t there for me to justify the time and money, especially without an already installed onboard air system.

I was looking at them since I had an onboard air system in my last vehicle and it was really convenient... rather than try to figure out where to install a tank, I went with a portable viair compressor instead.

For the horn, I bought a whelen electronic air horn and mounted the speaker behind my front bumper. Same effect, but it sounds like an ambulance or police car! :)

I kept the stock horn and then used a separate momentary switch for the air horns mounted on the center console just below the lid close to where my hand normally rest. I’ve probably only used the air horns twice in the past four months. Still nice to have the stock horn for when I’m picking the kids up from the babysitter or waving at a neighbor.

Aren't you afraid that the sudden/loud sound may startle an adjacent vehicle into an accident? I know that, when I'm on my motorcycle, a very close horn blast can send me into the next lane - reflexively. Be careful.

i probably wouldnt use the train horn in traffic.

as for the air horn, i have one on my work vehicle and it does not even faze the a**hole drivers here in Chicago. neither do lights or sirens for that matter.

When I was in Europe back in the day. They used to have two horns one for city and one for highway. I still think that’s an approach that makes sense and I would probably only use a very loud horn on the highway.

I installed a Wolo Bad Boy horn on my motorcycle to alert the morons that like to pull out in front of you because they don't ever see motorcycles. Believe me it gets more attention than the wimpy stock bike horn.

The Jeep horn is very difficult to push and also sounds pretty wimpy. I may look into another Wolo horn for the Jeep.
