Best 91 Wrangler YJ Lift Kit to fit 33s and get a street driver soft ride

I know, I know, this topic is everywhere but I still have a hard time getting concise clear info for what I'm looking for. Hopefully the wisdom of the forum can help me.

I have a 1991 Wrangler YJ Sahara and I want to be able to put 33s on it AND get the softest ride possible. It's only going to be used on the road, I got this for nice days and it stays in my garage with the top down. The 33s will be purely for fun and looks, and I want to install the lift myself.

I do not want a body lift at all, I just don't love the look of separating it from the bumper, even an inch. So whatever the appropriate mix of suspension only, or suspension and shackle lift is the best I'd love to hear it. My main concern is fitting 33 inch tires and having the best ride possible (which I know is relative given its a YJ and it can never have a car like ride).

Would love it if your recommendations can include links or detailed parts list if you've done it before or know where to go for the kits. Instead of just saying brand names it would be great to get exact kit links because I know some of these guys have different springs for different rides. I'm not worried about price, its worth it to pay for whatever the best ride is to me.

Thank you for your guidance to this new YJ owner

Get yourself a 2.5" lift kit from OME with a 1" body lift and you're golden.

Here is mine for reference with 2.5" OME Springs and 1" body lift. You could get away without the body lift. I'm running 33's

OME or Rubicon Express is your best bet. I just put Bilstein 5100’s on my RE 4.5 extreme springs and they are wayyyy nicer riding than the Rough Country NO2 shocks they replaced!

I'm running the 2.5 OME lift. It's a superb lift kit. I've gone the cheap way with Rough Country but I ended up taking all of it out and making some of my money back on it. Went with OME springs and Skyjacker hydro shocks along with 33x12.50 tires. I think it rides pretty damn close to factory. also keep your sway bar on, i just reinstalled my sway bar and the ride is better believe it or not. I think because the springs were too soft without it.

I have the heavy duty up front and regular ones in the back. Needed the heavy ones to support my Chevy V8 in it. Still rides very smooth.

I thought the 5.3 was lighter than the 4.0?

Just searched the net and found that an iron block Chevy 5.3 vortec weighs 580 lbs and the 4.0 weighs 483 lbs. So pretty much the Chevy is 100 lbs more.

I seen a post on jeepstrokers with engine weights that were sourced from novak. I thought the 258 weighed in at about 600 i know the 4.0 was lighter since it had aluminum intake and a header type exhaust instead of a cast iron manifold. Who knows... i just know the 258's in my CJ's were ridiculously heavy.

JEEP AND GM ENGINE WEIGHTS:

Their nominal estimated, accessory loaded weights are:

•2.8L V6, 365 lbs.
•2.5L I4, 340 lbs.
•4.0L I6, 515 lbs.

•Chevy 4.3L V6, 425 lbs.
•Chevy Small Block V8 (Gen. I & II), 550 lbs.
•Chevy Small Block V8 (Gen. III+), 470 lbs.
•Chevy Small Block V8 (LS1), 407 lbs.
•Buick 90 degree V6, 375 lbs.
•Buick 60 degree V6, 350 lbs.
