Is there a reason not to use Bestbuy to install speakers and amp to stock 430N unit. Bestbuy has free installation for most of their speakers and to install an amp is inexpensive?

No, no, no, a thousand times no. Unless you like a 17 year old kid hacking apart your sub panels and wiring, stripping screw threads, and breaking plastic tabs.
Most car audio businesses include free installation with the sale. Find a reputable one in your area and let them do the work.

The reason why they have "17 year old kids" doing it is because it's just that easy. It's a big company and if they scratch/break something it will get replaced. If you are going there because you bought the stereo there, look at Crutchfield and they prob can beat the price. All of their stuff comes with detailed instructions on how to install down to the last screw in your dash, with pics.

Take the time to learn a little about your rig..

good luck

As previously said, BestBuy isnt the best. Your car audio specific places are where to go if you want quality install. OR you could find some people who have done the same thing. If you were in Phoenix Id be happy to help out. I used to do this kind of thing in my sleep.

Do it yourself. 100x better than Best Buy and I'd argue better than many audio shops. Nobody takes care of your vehicle better than you. As long as you aren't building custom enclosures it's plug and play!

I worked for both, granted it was 15+ years ago, but the installers at Best Buy were one of the few positions that paid well besides store management and fairly competent.

As long as there isn't any major custom work being performed, they can be just as competent as the 17 year old kids at the car audio shops. No idea on your local shops and Best Buy, but where I'm at Best Buy usually hired college kids or at least people in their mid-20's, whereas the car audio shops hired high school kids.

Ive had great experience and quality at Best buy for a simple subwoofer install in one Jeep. Then I had a $1600 install job at a local car stereo shop. Total nightmare. Shoddy install, didn't hook up component speaker tweeters...
Therefore, I had a really bad experience in the high end stereo shop.
I didn't expect that

I had Best Buy install the radio and speakers in my Road Runner a few years ago. The tech at our local store is a guy in his late 20's early 30's who seems to know what he's doing. I chose BB over the local shop for several reasons. I, too, had a bad experience with the local car audio guys with another car. Seems like their employees are more of the "high school" age group more interested into getting high and into trouble. Also, BB's work is guaranteed for longer than the local shop, and at a better guarantee "rate" as well. There was a fair amount of custom work that had to be done too, even though the front speakers and mounting plate should have been "factory correct" for my application. I will gladly pay a bit more for good service and a good protection/guarantee plan. Someday, if I ever feel the need to upgrade my Jeep's stock 130 radio, I'll definitely use our local Best Buy.

Had BB install my amp, speakers, and eventually a new head unit. No problems, they did great work. I shopped other places besides BB and found their installer to be one of the best in my area. I would try to meet the installer first and see what you think.

I know BB will be around for a long time, private stereo shops could go out of business at anytime. The guarantees are much better at BB, a lot less issues if something goes wrong. I am a little nervous about short cuts taking place or using sub par materials...

As someone else stated it's store specific

There are some great local Indy shops however there are others which are beyond scary and the same is true for BB

I always like talking to the installer to get a better idea of what is going to be done. However on a simple speaker install it's not really important, amp location can be worth talking about. My issue with BB are the brands they stock and carry.

My local BB I have never purchased car audio stuff from however the head installer I new 20+ years ago when he installed and was a part owner of a local shop that didn't make it.
