Can you stand on the front bumper?

Hi all - newbie here. I just bought my first Jeep, a new 2017 JKU Sport. This may be a dumb question, but can you stand on the front bumper? It looks like it's steel reinforced in the middle, but I can't tell how strong the ends are.

Can't wait to get the aftermarket parts I ordered!

I've never stood on mine.

The bumper is steel and bolted to the frame. It's enclosed by a plastic cover. The bumper itself should easily hold the weight of a person, but I think you'd run the risk of scuffing the plastic if you're wearing boots or shoes. It would be cosmetic, but still.....

You could probably stand with one foot on each of the tow hooks with no problems.

Between the the hooks, yea I did it plenty of times and sat on it regularly (I'm only 160lb area though). The ends? I wouldn't recommend it unless as Iratepirate said, your going to record it...

I had to stand on mine not to long ago. 270lbs, the middle was a breeze and I didn't much think about it. I did have to move towards the ends and it made me a bit nervous but it held just fine. It got a bit bouncy on the ends but that was just the plastic cover. The steel underneath is plenty strong and extends to within a few inch's of the ends.

I stand on mine all the time, ends, middle, where ever... hasn't been an issue... although I did replace the cheesy plastic bumper with a metal one right off the bat...

I don't know about the strength of the OEM bumper, but I know when I was considering my order that I didn't like the looks of the "standard" bumper on most models.

It was cosmetic for me. I thought that the fog lamps centered in the bumper was ugly. I had planned on finding an aftermarket bumper that was more appealing to me before I decided to go with the Hard Rock.

The Hard Rock has a much more appealing bumper cosmetically. The package also included several other items that I was glad to have.

of course you can! You can even jump on it! Even the end caps. If you ever get stuck in the mud you can walk all the way around the jeep by going from the sliders to the tires to the bumpers etc. No need to step into the mud if you don't have to
